Home Economics Star Topher Grace Previews Holiday With the Hayworths | Entertainment

Forget Peace on Earth. The claws are out Domestical economy when the Hayworth siblings — middle-class Tom (Topher Grace), poverty-line Sarah (Caitlin McGee), and super-rich Connor (Jimmy Tatro) — opt for a Secret Santa swap. But, as always in this comedy, their quarrels are charged with a loving spirit.

Here, the Grace dishes.

What is the tradition of Hayworth family celebrations?

Topher Grace: Fight! And this year is no exception. Also, there are some new [extended] family members you haven’t met yet join the mix.

Tom is now earning money from the book he wrote about the celebrity chef. If he repays the loan he got from Connor in the series pilot, will that change things for them?

Yeah, Tom’s self-respect might go up…but his bank account might not. [Laughs]

Would Tom be a Scrooge if he was as rich as Connor?

One of my hopes is that – if we have a long term – we can change the financial situation of the siblings. I know Tom would be hilarious in the bad choices he makes with money, but I’m even more interested to see what Sarah would do!

As the show’s executive producer, what are you getting everyone for Christmas?

Thanks for reminding me! We should make him a secret Santa. I love working with all these people so much that I don’t know who I hope to choose.

Domestical economy, Wednesdays, 9:30 a.m./8:30 p.m., ABC
