Home team with Kevin James releases new poster

Home Team, the latest film from Happy Madison, is debuting a new promotional poster ahead of its January 28 release.

Earlier this year, we discovered that Adam Sandler and his production company (Happy Madison) were working on an upcoming film starring Kevin James as NFL coach Sean Payton. The film, titled home team, will be released on January 28, 2022 on netflix.

Home Team follows the story of New Orleans Saints head coach Sean Payton and his life away from the NFL during his one-year suspension in 2012. The infamous ‘Bountygate’ scandal saw the coach leave for the NFL, but not for football. During this time, he coached his son’s sixth-grade football team. The film also stars Taylor Lautner (Dusk) also stars in the film, as well as Rob Schneider.

netflix recently released a brand new trailer for the movie and you can watch it by clicking the link below.

Kevin James is no stranger to sports or sports movies for that matter. He is a huge Mets, Jets and Knicks fan. He also starred in Here comes the boom, a movie about a teacher-turned-MMA fighter trying to save a school music teacher’s job. With James and Sandler being good friends off and on screen, it makes sense that James landed this role. After all, Adam Sandler and Kevin James worked together on The adults 1 & 2, Hotel Transylvania 1-4, 50 first dates, Chuck and Larry and hubie halloween to name a few.

Not only do we have a new trailer for this movie, but we also have a brand new poster showing Kevin James as Sean Payton standing with his son’s football team. Peewee Warriors. Here is a preview of the new poster.

For those unfamiliar with the scandal surrounding Sean Payton and the New Orleans Saints, here’s a little insight into what led to the coach’s suspension. Bountygate was an incident in which members of the Saints were accused of paying out bounties, or “bounties”, for injuring opposing team players. The pool would have been in operation from 2009 (the year the Saints won the superbowl) to 2011. Defensive coordinator Gregg Williams was suspended indefinitely, although that was overturned the following year. Head coach Sean Payton has been suspended for the entire 2012 NFL season. General manager Mickey Loomis was suspended for the first eight games of the 2012 season. Assistant head coach Joe Vitt was suspended for the first six games of the 2012 season. The Saints organization was penalized one fined $500,000 and forced to give up her second-round selections in 2012 and 2013.

While this is a pretty serious incident, I imagine the superstar crew of Happy Madison and Kevin James will bring some levity to the story one way or another. The movie will be released on Neflix on January 28, so we’ll have to wait and see for ourselves. What do you think of the cast and the film? Is this going to be a Netflix hit you have to watch?
